I love the unique way Joker’s prosthetic is drawn, but also how realistic Beast’s looks. We get a huge glut of introductions in this volume to all the characters that are going to be leading the Circus Arc. Toboso manages to make characters look wildly different while keeping them all attractive in a classically bishounen way. This is the series starting to reach its potential. Everything I felt the last volume lacked is back in full force here. The Book of Circus anime arc is what reignited my love for Black Butler (that and a very enthusiastic friend) so I was thrilled to finally get to read it. This is the arc I’ve been waiting for since starting the manga. But when the situation calls for Ciel and Sebastian to infiltrate the big top, will Sebastian's inhuman skills be enough to see him and his young master through a treacherous tightrope act that may well end in death?
